Cayman Brac Devestation!
There has been a lot of mis-information circulated in the international media. Although the larger island of Grand Cayman generally escaped the wrath of Hurricane Paloma, the sister islands of Cayman Brac and Little Cayman endured a direct strike recorded at a Category 4. According to The Caymanian Compass, “Up to 1,000 people have been left homeless…” more... Photos can be found here. This is especially disturbing to those of us that have visited the beautiful island and stayed at the heavily damaged Brac Reef Beach Resort. The resort expects to have repairs (rebuilding) finished in April of 2009. Please support the island and the resort by booking a trip there when they re-open.

SHARKWATERIn theatres March 23, 2007.
Go see SHARKWATER. Last night I went to an advanced screening of SHARKWATER, all that I can say is WOW! What is SHARKWATER? Well, it is a spectacular documentary that started out as a way for director, Rob Stewart, to show people that sharks are a wonderful creature that should be marveled, not feared; but it turned in to a lot more. First off, SHARKWATER is visually stunning; there are many wonderful shots of the oceans most perfect inhabitant. Stewart shows us how politically corrupt countries are allowing the slaughter of millions of sharks every year. Stewart sets the record straight and this documentary will show how the dedication and passion of a few can start conservation revolution. I will recommend SHARKWATER to all my students and when it comes out on DVD, I will be showing it in class. A full review will be posted in the iScuba.ca Community section in the near future. -Brent Podruzny...iScuba.ca founder

Jan 29, 2007

Well, my internet has been down for the last 2 weeks, I am supposed to finally have a service guy coming tomorrow to get it fixed. Doesn't it bug you when you are on hold and you hear a message that says "you should sign up for SHAW's reliable high speed internet" ... when yours is not working. Anyway, I hope to have a couple new gallery albums added sometime this week as well as some of my favorite SCUBA related links, provide the SHAW guys are able to get me up an running again.

Jan 6, 2007

I think that all of the links are working now. A Community (newsgroup) section has been added. I swapped out the Flash galleries because they were too slow. Keep checking back and send an email if you have any comments...or leave a comment in the Community section.

A bad day diving is better than a good day at work.
